Paper mill water filtration treatment
We implemented two self-cleaning filters for the filtration of felt washing water in an important paper mill in Tuscany.
The paper mill requested the creation of two self-cleaning filters to protect the spray nozzles used to wash the dewatering felts. The main issue for the mill was the clogging of the nozzles, which prevented continuous paper production.
The water coming from the flotation system is divided into two lines:
- Low-pressure line: 5 bar
- High-pressure line: 25 bar
On the low-pressure line, with a flow rate of 90 m³/h, we installed one US filter (spray nozzles) with a filtration degree of 100 microns.
On the high-pressure line, with a flow rate of 84 m³/h, we installed one SCR filter (suction nozzles) with a filtration degree of 100 microns.
Filtration of paper mill waters is one of the most complex challenges we have encountered during our experience.
With our expertise and the collaboration of the customer, we succeeded in developing an excellent solution.
