The two-dimensional filtering element features a single-wire fabric i.e. made with a single wire usually woven into a square-shaped mesh.
This type of fabric enables very precise filtration but limited by mesh size (approx. 25 micron).
The two-dimensional fabric can be made both with synthetic materials such as polyamide, polyester, polypropylene, etc. or with metal materials AISI 316, Inconel, Hatelloy, etc. Synthetic fabrics are easier to wash and more resistant to oxidation than metal fabrics, which are certainly more wear-resistant than synthetic fabrics. All two-dimensional filtering fabrics have excellent filtration efficiency on inorganic suspended solids while they have poor filtration efficiency for organic suspended solids.
